The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is here! Michelle is a specialist disability registered provider and will work closely with other agencies, family and schools in the Noosa and Sunshine Coast region to ensure the highest quality of services are provided.

SILS – Independent Living

Michelle works closely with an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive Supported Independent Living assessments. Our joint assessment ensures integrated practice recommendations for the participant.

The assessment typically involves:

  • two face to face meetings with the participant
  • an interview with a close family member
  • and an interview with a carer or close support person
  • review of previous reports/individual plans

We also come to your home/work or education setting to see how you are going in your everyday life in your community.

The assessment report outlines areas of need, notes any risks and recommendations for support options. The report aligns with the participants goals and suggestions are made for the participant to be able to live as independently as possible.

ASD – Autism

Sometimes a new assessment of needs and functioning is required to support your application to NDIS. Michelle is experienced in diagnostic, adaptive functioning and behavioural assessments. The assessment may also involve a Speech and Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, a Physiotherapist or a Behavioural Optometrist as needed.

The assessment typically involves:

  • Semi-structured interviews with participant/primary carer
  • Adaptive behaviour assessment
  • Autism Diagnostic Interview – R or ADOS
  • Adapted assessment of social skills/academic skills/work ready skills
  • Independent living skills review
  • Sensory and motor skills assessment
  • Review of previous reports
